About
My philosophy:
Central to writing is reverence for the realm outside of what we know. To write is to learn continually – about oneself, others, and the cogs that form this world. The process necessitates searching for and sitting in multiplicities. Reading as a kid, I was drawn to the wonder that words instilled in me, and I longed to present that feeling to someone else.
At S.I. Newhouse, I studied magazine journalism, which combined all I loved about writing, visuals, and creativity. I learned to decipher and craft voices for unique audiences. While pursuing my degree, I traveled to Israel and Palestine to report on domestic violence, protests, and governmental policy. I also wrote for a number of campus publications about mental wellness, travel, beauty, music, and the harms of fast fashion.
Social media, now its own force for storytelling, requires similar attention. Working with NowThis and Insider Inc., I’ve seen analytics tell stories, and I’ve gained insight on how to convey a brand’s heart to the world.
Whether crafting pitches, social calendars, features, or branding voice guides, I look to share that awe I first felt while reading. Stories of significance begin with an understanding of what makes a person or a group human. In this investigation, we find more than simple content, but rather, a deeper knowledge of one another and how we are meant to live.
